PAINTING HOLIDAYS

'SEPTEMBER PAINTING WEEK' 20 – 27 SEPTEMBER 2010
'SPRING PAINTING WEEK' 9 - 16 MAY 2011

BOOK BY 31 OCTOBER and SAVE £70 per person
on our 2011 'Spring Painting Week'!

"Jenny couldn't have done more to make our holiday enjoyable. Lovely locations, excellent accommodation, we all got on well together and we had a holiday to remember. We also learnt a lot about drawing and painting." - J A, Maidenhead

"The Paxos locations are stunningly beautiful and local people are genuinely kind and good-natured. May is the ideal time to visit the island: the colours of the flowers are amazing and the locations we use are quiet and undisturbed. I found the course really enjoyable." - PG, London E4

Paxos is a beautiful island and, with its stunning scenery and wonderfully clear light, it is hard to imagine a more inspiring location for a painting holiday. On the West coast there are dramatic cliffs, while on the East coast there are pretty, unspoilt villages and scenic bays. Much of the island is covered in olive groves which in Spring and Autumn are carpeted with wild flowers. The colours are simply amazing.

We are therefore pleased to be offering two painting holidays equally suitable for those with previous experience and for complete beginners on the island.

The 'September Painting Week' (20 - 27 September 2010) and the 'Spring Painting Week' (9 - 16 May 2011) both aim to provide you with a wonderful painting holiday where you can enjoy sketching and painting alongside other painters in an inspirational/beautiful setting. They will be based in the delightful village of Loggos, the smallest of the three coastal villages on the beautiful Greek island of Paxos, but time will also be spent visiting other parts of the island. Accommodation will be in The Manor House, an elegant building and one of the most famous houses on the island, which commands wonderful views of Loggos harbour and the mountains on the Greek mainland.

The holidays will be led by Jenny Halstead, who currently teaches drawing and painting classes in France, Greece and Spain, and also in the Berkshire area. Jenny is also working on the progression of her own work and frequently holds solo and group exhibitions in the South East of England.

Tuition will be based around morning group sessions and early evening get-togethers, with plenty of opportunities for individual advice. Jenny will also be on hand during the afternoons to help those who wish to continue painting. The working week will run from Tuesday to Sunday, with a free day on Friday to give you the chance to explore the rest of the island or simply relax.

Topics covered during the week will include

     •  sketchbook work
     •  drawing
     •
  line and wash
     •  pen and watercolour
     •  figure drawing
     •  composition
     •  basic perspective
     •  tone and colour

Holiday Cost: The 'September Painting Week' and the 'Spring Painting Week' each cost £895 per person, which includes tuition, accommodation in a shared twin/double room in The Manor House, one of the most famous houses on Paxos which commands wonderful views over Loggos harbour, return transfers between Corfu and Loggos, local transport and most meals. Optional activities including Greek cookery, Greek dancing, boat trips and walks will be available at additional cost.

For full details of what is included in the cost of the holidays and of the accommodation, please see 'Painting Holidays Further Information'.

It is also possible for anyone who has their own accommodation or who wishes to be more independent just to join the group tuition sessions. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
