STEVE VOAKE
Steve Voake is
a successful children's author whose books have sold all
over the world.
He is
currently Senior Lecturer in Writing for Young People at
Bath Spa University and is a regular tutor for The Arvon
Foundation.

His
books include ‘The Dreamwalker’s Child’, ‘The
Starlight Conspiracy’, ‘Blood Hunters’ (Faber
& Faber) and the ‘Daisy
Dawson’
series (Walker Books) for younger readers, which became
a bestseller for Scholastic Book Club in the U.S.
'Insect Detective',
a non-fiction picture book about insects, was published
by Walker Books in November 2009.
Steve
is currently working on a new novel for Faber and a new
series for Walker Books, the first of which, ‘Hooey
Higgins and the Shark’, was published in March 2010.

Before writing his first novel, Steve was Headteacher of
Kilmersdon Primary School in Somerset and still enjoys
teaching creative writing workshops in schools across
the country. He has also given talks on his work at
various events including the Edinburgh International
Book Festival, Cheltenham Literary Festival, Bath
Literature Festival and Aberdeen Storytelling Festival.
Steve lives in Somerset with his wife and two children.
