HOLIDAYS IN THE GREEK ISLANDS FOR SINGLE TRAVELLERS
It is often difficult for anyone with a specific interest to find ideal
holiday companions but the special interest holidays
offered by Paxos Life Activities mean that this need not
be a problem.
Special interest holiday operator Paxos Life Activities
has just launched its Summer 2010 programme of holidays
and courses in Greece and, although the holidays are not
aimed specifically at single travellers, they are ideal
for anyone travelling alone who wishes to spend their
time in the company of a group of like-minded people.
Paxos is a really beautiful island which has, for the
most part, escaped the effects of mass tourism. With its
friendly locals and village life revolving round the
church and family-run tavernas, it gives visitors to the
island the chance to re-discover the simplicity of
Greece as it used to be. It is in fact the friendliness
not only of the Paxiots but also of visitors to the
island that helps to make it such an ideal place for
anyone travelling alone.
However, with its stunning scenery, wonderfully clear
light and unrushed pace of life, Paxos also provides the
ideal environment for anyone with an interest in the
creative arts and for Summer 2010 Paxos Life Activities
is therefore offering special interest holidays and
courses in Painting, Photography, Creative Writing,
Self-Development, Life Coaching and Yoga.
Accommodation is in shared villas with their own pools
and spacious terraces set in the shade and tranquillity
of the olive groves above the village of Loggos, and in
The Manor House, an imposing Venetian building and one
of the most famous houses on the island, that has
stunning views over Loggos harbour and across to the
mountains of mainland Greece. There is the option either
to share a twin room with a fellow traveller or to enjoy
the privacy of one’s own room upon payment of a
supplement. For anyone who already has their own
accommodation on Paxos or simply wishes to be more
independent, there is also the option of just joining
the group tuition sessions.
The friendly and informal holidays, which are suitable
for all levels of ability, are based around group
tuition sessions on five mornings a week, leaving plenty
of time for individual advice, to explore Paxos or to
simply relax. So those taking part will get the best of
all worlds: the chance to have a holiday in an idyllic
location and to make new friends, while at the same time
doing something very worthwhile in an environment where
there are few distractions.
The Summer 2010 programme begins in May with Creative
Writing, Self–Development, Life Coaching and Yoga
holidays, and is followed in June by a further Creative
Writing holiday. Autumn holidays include Yoga, Creative
Writing, Painting and Photography.
