CREATIVE WRITING COURSES ON PAXOS
LINDA M JAMES
“I don’t know exactly what makes someone a writer;
perhaps it’s a combination of a thirst for knowledge,
the desire to experience as much as life can offer and
the compulsive need to create stories from what you’ve
learned from life.”
Linda M James is a writer of short stories, poems,
novels, non-fiction books and screenplays; she is also a
creative writing tutor.

Having been brought up in Swansea, South Wales, Linda
then spent a number of years living in a wide variety of
locations including Malta, Germany and Austria. On her
return to England, she went back to university and
subsequently became a lecturer in English. But her
varied experiences in life soon started to surface and
refused to be ignored. So she left her job and started
to write; a decision she has never regretted.
Linda has had three novels
published: Out Of Shaking Air, The Invisible
Piper and Tempting The Stars. Her contemporary
psychological thriller
The Day Of The Swans
is being published in 2012 and she has also adapted the
book into a screenplay. In 2008
she was commissioned to write three screenplays:
Young Ivanhoe,
Young Helen of
Troy
and Jesus
Christ: The Missing Years.

In 2010, Linda was commissioned to
write a non-fiction book called
Writing and Selling
Great Short Stories
which is being published in December 2011. Her highly successful
How to Write Great Screenplays: And Get Them Into
Production, which is based on her own
experience of working in a highly competitive industry,
was published in 2009. In this book, she not only
explores the process of writing a truly compelling
script, but also tells the reader how to get their
completed script into the right hands for production.
Linda currently lives in Whitstable with her
husband. In her ‘spare time’, she loves having her
family stay with her, playing the piano, watching films,
reading books, enjoying the company of friends and going
on long walks in the beautiful Kent countryside.
